Forum is MIA

Hello all,
I am sure some of you have noticed that the Yasmin and Yaz Survivors forum is not available at the moment. I have no idea why this is and is trying to figure it out.

If you want to share your stories in the meantime PLEASE email them to yasmin_yaz@live.com and I will add them to the blog. Please make sure you put in the title "For Blog" so I know I can add it.

Love and support to all.

    hi Helena,
I have been off yaz for two months now and have not had a period.
Went off yaz as I was experiencing facial numbness and tingling in legs and arms. This has gone away but I am in a bad place, very depressed and can't see any hope. I am taking magnesium, B vitamins, vitamin D and Maca.
Today is a difficult day. I am also bereaved as my Mother passed away and I am going over and over her illness. I feek I Could handle this beeter if I didn't have these other issuesdue to yaz.
Thank you for your insight into yaz .

    1. HI dear.
I am sorry you are going through the passing of your mother on top of everything you have to deal with by recovering from Yaz. It cannot be easy. I wish I could help you in any way. Supplements are hard to say if they help or not.. because we all need a different cocktail then the next. It is so very individual. Sometimes sea-minerals can help our brain to function a little bit better. You can try it, just make sure it is not a regular store brand or something like that. If you can find someone in your area that does something called "Nutrition Response Testing" I would advice you to consider it.

Sending you many hugs and loving and healing thoughts your way.
      xo Helena

I am heartbroken to find that this forum is down, because I am at a critical juncture in my personal fight against Bayer and would desperately love to talk to others who have been in similar circumstances.

I didn't take Yaz or Yasmin. When they began to be unmarketable due to bad press, Bayer did something so diabolical that I still have trouble believing it. They took the exact formula of Yaz, added .425 micrograms of folic acid, and released it under new, unrecognizable brand names. One of those was Safyral, which I was put on in fall of 2011 after weaning my last child. Just under four months later, a severe DVT and PE arrived right on schedule, to destroy my life and health.

I have representation and Bayer has finally been ordered to begin arbitration on what they are calling the "Tier Two" medications (Safyral, Beyaz, etc). In fact, my attorneys are scheduled to go into the first settlement meeting next week.

WWhile I am glad that something is finally happening, my attorney wants me to provide a number that is the minimum I would be willing to accept, with the understanding that they will fight for more. The number they want me to agree to is just kind of a "worst case scenario" if they cannot get more.

I don't know... what price tag do you put on 2 1/2+ years of disability, pain, severe financial hardship, missing out on everything in your children's lives, the near destruction of your marriage, and the fact that your future quality of life and life expectancy have been decimated? The minimum number they want me to agree to would not even cover my income lost since this happened.

I was so hoping to find a group where I could talk to other women who have been through this or are going through it, get some input and insight. It's amazing to me that there are no such active places on the internet (at least none that I have found). Is Bayer really powerful enough to keep all of this THAT under wraps?

    1. Hi love,
I know what you mean. We are still trying to understand why the forum got shut down, and also try to re-open a new one if we can't get this one back. There are so so many women that suffer from these pills (and yes they will continue to change the formula just a tad to keep it on the market) - but very few of us wont even be included in the law suit, because we don't fall into the set criteria.

You are right there is no way to put a number on a life like you describe. I think I went through at least 10 years of suffering of different degrees but have no "right" to claim anything. It is really bad!

You can write here for now and as soon as we know what is gong on, I will post it here.
Sending you hugs and so much support.

So I guess when your big business you can get away with anything. There is a yaz case from my mothers death. We are on our second attorney and this is the second attorney to tell us take what they are offering or we are quiting the case. Their offer isn't even 20 percent of our documented economic loss that doesn't even have pain and suffering on or all the financial loss with everything added up we are figuring it is closer to 10 percent of what was lost and big business and the lawyers representing the injured just don't care.

    1. It is horrible.. they will never stop. It is a never ending battle and more and more women and their families are suffering because of it. This round we are talking about Yasmin and Yaz but soon we will see the "upgrades" like BeYaz go through this too.

FDA has made it clear that they are not going to take it off the market and Bayer is obviously making more money in selling it and paying off lawsuits than to pull it. I feel for you and your family. You will never win against them - settle is the "best" you can do but it will never make a statement against this drug...

Keep looking there are lawyers out there that do care..

      Hugs

  4. Have we started a new forum or figured out the old one yet? I really miss it for research and comfort when going through this. Been off yaz for a year, and birth control completely for 8-9 months. I have some questions that someone might be able to answer from personal experience or reading it in the forums. Did anyone get KP (keratosis pilaris) after stopping yaz? I have chicken skin all over starting a month after stopping Yaz. They are very noticeable like I have goose bumps constantly. Especially in my neck. But thankfully they aren't red like some people get :( also, how did getting off yaz affect your hair? My hair was to my middle of my back in september 13, and now it's broken off completely to my shoulders and is just weak, brittle, while at the same time being both dry and oily, like it's sticky. Have tried so many expensive shampoos etc, thinking the problem is most likely related to my hormones. Just want to be normal and have my normal weight return, and just look like me. Because I look drastically different then a year a go.

    1. Hi Love,
Yes I know.. We are working on it. I have been struggling with some other personal issues that I haven't been able to put too much attention into this but as soon as we have something figured out I will announce it here!!!

I have heard of the goose bumps actually - and may have some myself, especially on my behind.. :/
My hair SUFFERED greatly when I quit yasmin. It took me a long time before I started to see changes. It almost has to go through its own cycle. When you start to see new hair coming you can start to smile. Expensive shampoos are really not going to do anything for you.. rather look for shampoos with less chemicals in them. In the long run they will treat you better..

  5. How long until weight gain should start to drop? I've been off yaz for a little over a year now. And have gained 35 pounds. The most recent 5 pounds has been in the last month, the other thirty were in months 1-5 of stopping yaz. This is so depressing. I've never been this chubby in my life. It's all concentrated in my belly and face. I keep expecting the weight to drop off soon, only to step on the scale and find out it went up even more. I feel like nothing is getting better and am tempted to go back on the pill everyday, but I know that if I do it will probably kill me sooner or later. Please advise. I miss the forums :( looks like the whole create forum.com shut down or something.

    1. Yes, we still don't know what happened with the createforum platform and are now researching other platforms that are a little bit more up to date and user/admin friendly.

The weight gain is a true sign that you are still struggling with getting rid of the damage the pill created. Your body is creating this fat tissue to actually protect you from it.. Instead of discarding the chemicals it is storing it, because it does not know what to do with it.. and usually when we feed our body with stuff it does not recognize the body figures "ahhh.. she must need this for something" and it will store it for a rainy day.

In this case we do not want the body to store it...
I am by no means a medical professional of any kind... and please do not take this as a medical recommendation.. but look into a product called "BodyAnew Cleanse" It is a detox pack with three bottles of liquid homeopathic drops. It is pretty effective and it may help your body start to clean out. (Your bumps you are talking about is kind of (also) pointing towards your kidneys being overworked... and that is why I am asking you to look into this product.)

      Hang in there.
I gained so much weight coming off and I know the struggle of looking like someone different... it is a long and painful process to get back on track.
      We are here with you.
      Hugs

    2. Oh no. They discontinued that product. I just looked all over online for it and it says unavailable from manufacturer. Do you have any others you recommend? Or what to look for in a detox?

    3. The BodyAnew is a newer version of "Heels Detox Kit". It is the same thing, just renamed the BodyAnew stuff to sound more hip.. lol..

If you can get either one, it is fine

  6. How long do you recommend taking the detox for? And did you follow the 30 drops a day recommendation?

Doesn't say much about whether to take it continuously or for weeks every month or??

Looking forward to trying it and hopefully it'll have some effect on me.
In your opinion, is this weight gain actually fat, or is it fluid retention? Crazy to think we can build that much fat that quick. Probably some is fluid too.
Thanks so much for replying. And hope your personal issues resolve soon.
    Take care. :)

    1. Hi.. You can do it for a month or 6 weeks.. but lower the drops every week with one less per dose. For example:
      Week 1 - 10 drops of each 3 times a day
      Week 2 - 9 drops of each 3 times a day
      Week 3 - 8 drops of each 3 times a day
      Week 4 - 6 drops of each 3 times a day
      Week 5 - 4 drops of each 3 times a day
      Week 5 - 2 drops of each 3 times a day

This solution should be dropped into a water bottle and you should sip it all through out the day. Between Breakfast and lunch, between lunch and dinner, between dinner and bedtime.

It is hard to say if it is just fat or just fluids, it is probably a combination..

      Hope it works for you!!!
      Hugs

  8. Could excess testosterone be causing a lot of our symptoms? I read somewhere that yaz keeps testosterone levels down/where they should be, so coming off did they possibly skyrocket and estrogen and progesterone decreased? Both my progesterone and estrogen are low, and progesterone is lower than estrogen, but I haven't gotten my testosterone checked yet (hoping to this week). So I'm thinking maybe some symptoms are from low estrogen and progesterone, and maybe the weight gain/scalp hair loss/ facial body hair growth is from high/normal testosterone? If so, is there any treatment anybody has found for reducing testosterone besides taking Spiro? I appreciate all your comments regarding your experience with testosterone levels and birth control. :) hope everyone is doing better.

    1. Well.. the truth about our hormones is that they change daily, even buy the hour. If you are familiar with your natural cycle you would know that during ovulation your progesterone is high and estrogen low and when you have your period it is reversed. To test your hormones without knowing where in the cycle you are is pointless. And unless you do a test every day for a full cycle it will probably not show you much to go by (in my humble opinion).

The pill does not just disrupt our sex-hormones but so much else... if it was just the sex-hormones you wouldn't feel all the side effects you have been feeling. However, no matter what - hormones can be controlled by food. Testosterone loves sugar! Limit your sugar intake as a first step.

Emerita Pro-Gest Progesterone cream is a good option too - should be taken between ovulation until you get your period. It is NATURAL for the body :)

    2. Hello again. I hope all has been well with you!
I have a question, I have all the symptoms of pcos except my ovaries were normal on a ultrasound, this was when I was still on the pill though, I'm starting to wonder whether I actually have pcos and need treatment for it, or if it's still just from stopping the pill. What do you think? Should I try to get metformin?

  9. So I think about when your enormous business you can escape with anything. There is a yaz case from my moms passing. We are on our second lawyer and this is the second lawyer to let us know take what they are putting forth or we are quiting the case. Their offer isn't even 20 percent of our reported monetary misfortune that doesn't even have torment and enduring on or all the money related misfortune with everything included we are figuring it is more like 10 percent of what was lost and enormous business and the legal advisors speaking to the harmed simply couldn't care less.

    1. I am so sorry to hear about your mother passing away from this awful pill! It really breaks my heart. I know that the settlements are horrid.. and the settlements just allows Bayer to continue to sell the pill.. They make enough profit to pay for all these settlements that it is worth it to them to keep selling it, no matter how many people they have hurt and killed. I wish someone would stand up and not take a settlement and go to court - even if that meant they could walk out of there with nothing... I am sending you hugs. I hope you can find peace that your mother is with the Lord in heaven protecting you and your loved ones. xo
